Do Car insurances have to include the costs and fees associated with getting a new car?
In the state of Florida, I've heard that car insurances have to add in the fees associated with purchasing a new car (as part of a property damage settlement). Is this true? I do not have a contract with them stating what will be covered. Furthermore, I read on an auto accident info page that Florida statute requires property damage to include the fees associated with registering a new car, tag, title, etc. I'm just seeking to verify if that information is true. I realize insurances laws are different for each state, (which is why I'm asking, and asked, specifically about Florida!).

- Every states insurance laws vary, check with your local insurance co missioners office.
- every state is different you need to ask your car insurance company
- Insurance companies insure the "value" of your vehicle and do NOT include incidentals!
- Every state is different; I believe, however, that the only fee included is a title fee maybe. You'd really need to check with the insurance company. If they're required to pay certain fees they won't keep it from you.
- When you insure a brand new vehicle in Manitoba, you are offered new car protection, which covers the costs paid, including taxes. Otherwise, car insurance is actual cash value of the vehicle at the time of loss.
