Can you have two insurance policies on one car? My Dad has a classis car, I would like to use this car for a weekend, but as i am only 19 I cannot have classic car insurance so I cant go on as a named driver. Is there anyway I can insure this car for a weekend? I dont have comprehensive cover and your only insured for any car if your over 25, this also applies to any driver it only covers drivers over the age of 25.
Classic car insurance for non-garaged car? Anyone know of a company that will cover my cars if they are in a carport instead of a garage? Hagerty says no, anyone have any suggestions? I live in So. Cal so it would cost me half a million dollars to get a home with garage.
Pay as you drive car insurance? What is peoples opinions on this, some like the idea some dislike the thought of being tracked everywhere. Have a read of this first, it give you more info on it ; http://www.carbasics.co.uk/pay_as_you_drive_car_insurance.htm I am thinking about it for a second / classic car for myself.
I have a 1992 Ford Probe LX. Will it become a classic car in 10-20 years? I love the design of this car and am the first owner. However, I have already replaced the engine twice and afraid that keeping it will only cost me more money including insurance. If someone (experts, car enthusiats, classic car owners, etc.)can logically convince me that it will become a classic then I'll keep it. Otherwise, I'll sell it.
Car insurance - UK answers only please? I'm 23 and want to do the impossible, and drive a powerful car yet avoid paying thousands a year in insurance. Can I save much by driving a classic car (with road tax exempt status) - e.g. a 1990 Jaguar XJS 5.3 litre V12 my father owns? Or how about a 1994 Saab 900 SE 2 litre V4 (non-classic car)? Can I save money by being a named driver on my father's insurance? Or should I just walk more?
Would it be a bad idea to get a classic car (60s-70s) as my first? I'd figure it won't cost as much to get a used classic car, especially one that's beat up a bit. That would give me time to work on the car myself, gain some experience along the way, and customize it to my own wants. However, thinking about this makes me feel worried that it's not a safe idea, due to the lack of safety features back then. I'd also have to learn on a manual, which I have no experience on. Lastly, how would insurance be? It's just an idea I haven't put too much thought into, so if you all agree it's a bad idea, I wouldn't complain. I was thinking of a 1970 Pontiac Trans Am. Is that a good idea? The only problem is I have no idea how to really work on cars. I don't want to mess with the mechanical stuff, but I think I might be able to change the seats or something.
Insurence for a Classic car? My dads got a 69 camaro convertible....he is most likely giving me. Its in good shape n all but i was wondering im 19 can i even get classic insurance or insurance at all for this thing?

Michigan Classic Car for our wedding!! Please help!? We are a young couple looking to rent a classic car from a PRIVATE owner for our special day! We are covering all of our own expenses and can only afford around $150. Our wedding date is 8-8-08, and we only need the car for approx. 2-3 hours. My fiance' has a clean driving record, and full coverage insurance. We just can't afford the companies out there. This means a great deal to us, and are hoping that someone out there is willing to help us out! This is our last resort! We want our day to be memorable, and have some awesome pictures! Our 'dream' car is a 60's model, preferrably Black! The cooler the better. We're begging for your help! If you or someone you know may be willing to help please let us know! Thanks! Sorry about that...we're getting married in Clarkston Michigan, and we would actually prefer the owner to drive it. oklatom~We have checked them out, but they seem to only do leasing. We only need the car for a few hours tops! Thanks for the suggestion!
Mint 89 deVille insurance? Ok, I had collision on the 89 Sedan deVille. The car is in beautiful shape- not a scratch on her, no sign of rust, engine is in perfect order (i've been gradually doing upgrades on things...hoses, fuel pump etc.....) People just oogle the thing when they see it, and their jaws drop when I tell them she just hit 122,000 miles. Still a pup! However, in a private resort, on Christmas Eve night, while driving SLOW, I couldn't make a turn on a very slick hill/turn and she just slid into a guard rail. According to the initial assement (crooks they are) she was a total loss (2400 in repairs, Blue Book is at about 2500) She needs a new bumper, headlight, side light and the parts that go along with that. So really just a cosmetic problem. Is there any insurance for this age of vehicle that is in supreme shape? I know there is "classic" car insurance, but she may be too young for that... but it's a classic anyhow and I'd like to keep her protected. Do I have any further options? Thanks much!!
If you were given any car in the world? Just a daydream, but if tou had the choice of being given any car freebies, all insurance, maintenance & running costs included, what would it be ? Oh I can hear minds gravitating to the Ferraris & Bentleys new or classic. I suppose, on consideration, I would go for a Buggatti Royale. Well, they only made 6 of them, and the last one to surface for public auction fetched over $40m. The rest are hidden somewhere, but I would not hide it away in storage to stand and gaze at. I would drive the beast around. Perhaps you have a favourite, no expense spared car. What would it be ? Dream away ! Bob.
1988 Iroc Camaro classic insurance for an 18 y.o.? I priced the car on my own policy as a daily driver car, it's 140 a month. My dad pays 50 bucks a year for his 67 camaro so i might pay about 100 or 150 a year for mine on classic insurance. My question is...are there companies you know of that give classic auto insurance on 20 year old cars for drivers with only 2 years drving exp or are only 18? alot of campanies require the car to be 25 yrs or the driver to be 20. Any companies you know that give classic to 18 year olds? well its a mint iroc, i have a daily driver and it is a show car, not just older. only 34000 miles on it, got it from the original owner, worth 9000, i dont want just regular liability do i? i only drive it maybe 2k miles a year
Should I get antique tags for my vintage Volkswagens? Or should I stick with normal registration? I'm 25yrs old and I have two classic cars: a 1973 VW Beetle and a 1976 VW Campmobile(aka "hippie van"). Both of them were taken off the road for about a year but now that summer's approaching, I'm getting them reinsured and reregistered. A lot of people keep telling me to get antique car tags, because then I won't have to put up with the hassle of paying for inspection each year and other fees. I've also heard that classic car insurance is very cheap -- only a few hundred a year for full(liability, comprehensive, collision) coverage. Last year, I had my cars on a regular insurance policy and I paid $12/mo for the Campmobile and $36/mo for the Beetle(The campmobile was cheaper because it qualified for the multicar discount). This was for state min coverage--liability only. Do you think classic car insurance would save me much money? Also--how hard is it to get approved for classic tags, and how long does it typically take? I understand I need to send in pictures. Advice?

However, do you know how much they'd cost or how long it takes to receive them after applying? I live in Pennsylvania(Bucks County) by the way. I'm still planning to keep my daily driver(Mustang). Plus I normally use mass transit to get to work or any other events downtown in the city. I'd be driving my VWs very minimally, mostly just for weekend pleasure rides or showing off to friends. So any restrictions on the antique cars' mileage or days is A-okay with me.
Car Insurance? Would a classic (around '72) Camaro be considered high performance (From an insurance companys perspective)?
What is the most reliable type of classic car to buy for between £1500 and £3000? I'm looking to buy a classic car for not too much money (no more than £3000) and was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on a good all rounder. By that I mean one that would be fairly reliable to do a 6 mile round journey to work each day, and wouldn't be massively costly if things went wrong - although I accept that with an older car there is always a price to pay, oh and not too costly on the insurance. So far I've been looking at MGs and Porches, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am a 15 year old, on Cape Cod, and I was wondering is a 65-67 mustang right for a new car? I have loved mustangs since i was little, and i have always dreamed of having one for my first car. There are two issues that are swirling in my head, insurance, and gas. I understand mustangs of that age got like 12-15 MPG, and it will be expensive to fill up. But my concern that i do not know is, can i drive a mustang as a "commuter" car? I have seen insurance policies for classic cars and they have limitations on the amount of miles you can drive a year. Can you just buy a normal insurance policy on an old car, one with unlimited mileage? P.S. I know the danger with an old mustang, no airbags, ESC, drum brakes. But i do have experience in driving, I have driven in Syria, and if you can drive there, you can drive anywhere. I am ALSO interested in an automatic. Thank you Oh and I was also wondering about the cost to fix somthing on the car, I.E. body work, or a simple oil change.
Should I keep my 1995 Caprice or buy a new Econo Car? I have a 1995 Chevy Caprice Classic with 73,000 miles on it that runs well and is in great shape. It is a big V8 and likes gas but I own it and pay minimal insurance (MA Car Insurance sucks!.) I was thinking of getting rid of the car for a new Focus, Cobalt or Elantra. Would you keep the current car or spring for a new one?
Classic Cadillacs? I'm trying to buy a Classic Cadillac in Manatee county,FL. Are there any car dealers in Manatee county or close by that sells classic cadillacs? What's the price range? MPG? Cheapest insurance for me. I'll be 16 next month. Is there any way to improve the MPG on a cadillac because I heard it's low. Anything else I should know about a classic cadillac?
How long do you keep your no claims if you are not currently using it? My husband has full UK no claims discount, but is not insuring a vehicle with it this year, next year he will want to use it again to insure a car for our son to learn in. Will he still be able to use his no claims discount or will he have to start at the beginning again? He hasnt had a claim or a ban or anything, he is driving on my insurance in my car and has a classic car policy on an old TVR for this year and you cant use your no claims on those. Thanks if you know the answer.
Hit and Run? What can I do? Well I was involved in an accident when a car backed out of a spot and hit me-he didn't look back and crashed into my 1969 firebird classic car. He gave me false information (insurance, address). I have his correct phone # and name but Im not sure if he wrote down his correct license plate number. The good thing is that I have 2 witnesses. I didn't call the cops because I didn't have insurance and I wasn't sure if I'd get in trouble--STUPID ME. I'm going to call the police for hit and run. I searched for his address on the web but he is not listed. My next step is calling a private investigator to look his address by using his phone number and name. Do you think I can get this guy? What can I do? I want to go to small claims court!! HELPPPP!!!!
Any Insurance Agents/Adjusters out there? I am a lady in my 60's. I am a car person, having Classic Shows Cars for years. So...I take great care of all my cars. They are in A1 condition. I have an '85 Buick Regal that I have been paying full coverage insurance on for 22 yrs. The car is immaculate. Blue book at this point is very low. Under $2,000. I recently hit a tree with the right front of the car and the estimate is $3,200 to fix it. Needs a fender, hood and other items. The insurance company says they will not pay to fix it because the value is lower that the cost to fix it. BULL I told them. I have been paying you for 22 yrs and have FULL ($300 deductible) COVERAGE. What Legal Theory are you using? If I pay you, then you pay me, no matter what the cost is. That is what I pay that premium for every year. My question: How can they do this? It can't be legal! If they won't fix it then they should return all my premiums. right? to: "fighting saints" Yes, I do have my classics insured with specialty insurance. One car is insured for $100,000, so I know about that. Just angry that they will not pay for the repairs. The car is NOT a total wreck. It can easily be fixed.
